I was involved in creativity when I was a child and my parents encouraged me.
When I moved in Calgary I felt that I deeply desire to draw and I began to refresh my skills at home. It was a new adventure for me inside of the world of colors and forms, lights and shadows, my understanding and soul.
The painting works as if by magic. When you take a piece of paper and build a three-dimension world, it is magic. I don't represent the world, but the world wants to say something through myself. I'm trying to bring it through my paintings.
I’ve tried watercolor and pastel and understood that I am keen on pastels. I’m learning oils as well.
I am extremely thankful to everyone artists who have shared their knowledge. I have been studying the fine art at different courses and workshops, online and articles, books and magazines. I’m extremely thankful to everyone artists who have shared their knowledge with me.
BIO
Kate Borovko was always a creative person with a huge interest in art but part of her life remained untapped while she was caring of her family and working as an engineer. When she immigrated in Canada her interest in art filled her mind and she has been diving into that field. It was a new adventure for her inside of the world of colors and forms, lights and shadows, her understanding and soul. Her first path was in watercolors, then she tried pastel medium and she fell in love with it. Later Kate began to learn oil. She has been attending different workshops around the world and improving her skills with local artists through art classes, online courses, books and magazines and copying old masters. She likes plein airs, which have lots of creativity, fresh feelings and ideas. Kate has been participating in various shows and exhibitions.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My wide range of work includes still lifes, wildlife, landscapes, figurative and plein airs painted in oils and pastels.
The main goal in my artworks is to engage the viewers in a visual adventure through layers of discovery. Each painting I’m working at is a mixture of my observations with ideas and emotions, feelings and thoughts, my soul. I’m trying to display people in my artworks specific visions and sensation, which I feel while I paint. I want them to follow me to that amazing world called ART and find their own answers.
